Michiel Broker

Michiel has settled down in West London after working and living in New York, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Dublin and Rotterdam. Trained as a medical doctor and economist, he has since worked in the biotechnology sector as an entrepreneur, investor and advisor. Currently, he is helping start-up life sciences companies raise funding for their medicines in development. He is on the board of a UK based gene therapy company and co-founder of an annual global conference for regenerative medicine.

Michiel is keen to take best practices from cities around the world and help Kensington and Chelsea turn from laggard to leader in safe and healthy streets. He wishes his daughter, as well as all parents and their children in the borough, to soon confidently feel that they can cycle safely to school or work on unpolluted roads.
